This is a permanent compact echinodorus whereby the new leaves always turn brown-red and after that the older leaves turn olive-green again. There is a change of colour and the colours of the leaves can be enforced by offering more red in the light spectrum. When the plant produces young shoots (little plants) you can use these as forefront plants for a few months and move them to another part in the aquarium when they get bigger.
